patrickdlogan's jots on sports

Bah, humbug. I must (te-)bow to to Broncos for getting out of the first round. I have a prediction for the Pats rematch, however.
Urp. 3rd straight loss, 6 for 22, with an interception, and a *20* QB rating. I'd say Denver is horked and should take no comfort in back-dooring it into the playoffs.. Who QBs for Denver next year? I seriously doubt Elway can allow it to be Tebow.
Gaws, e-e-e-e-easy touchdown indeed. I would be royally pissed as well if I were Boise State, forced to play on December 22 against ASU. 28-3 and it is not quite half-time.
Seen on http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=3112... "Bush rushed for a career-best 203 years." -- All I can say is *WOW*. I had no idea.
Once again we are reminded how difficult it is to go undefeated in the NFL. The Chiefs!
Geez, Tebow, why not run back to the end zone and get sacked *there*?
Hugh Douglas on Sports Center just now, re: the Pats vs. Broncos, "Tom Brady and Tim Tebow have two different ways of getting it done." There is deep truth in that comment.
Watching Sports Center, wondering why no one's going wild for the Denver defense or kicker? I hope they get some recognition in the locker room and front office at least. #tebowtime indeed.

Brandon Roy takes a medical retirement. His last hurrah vs. Dallas (ultimately the NBA champs) last year in the playoffs... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YneamUqN1w&...
Please to be explaining: the NBA is forcing Paul to remain in New Orleans as a sign that the new agreement will help keep star players in small markets?
Great weekend of football. Wow. CFB and NFL. I can feed off this weekend to make it through the bottom-tier bowls that make up most of December.
If Tebow scores here I will convert to Christianity. And I am not talking about my ancestral Catholicism. I will become a Southern Baptist.
I don't know whether I can watch football today. I don't want to erase my memory of that fantastic Big 10 Championship game from yesterday. Just an amazing game. (And as a Buckeye / Beaver -- I have no stake in the game, save the winner beats Oregon)
I've not seen a game as good as this Big 10 champ. in a long time. MSU is "in it to win it" if you will.
I might shout to Georgia that you cannot win by settling for field goals... well, especially if you don't make them... But since this is LSU, I think the fact is that you *can* win by settling for field goals... *even* if you miss them!
" Portland Police Investigate Traffic Crash Involving NFL Player Ndamukong Suh http://bit.ly/sARlAU " -- reportedly not impaired. Other than having spent his formative years in Portland during the Jail Blazer Era. Not the way to serve a suspension.
Two thoughts. One: Tebow wins again. Second: Bengals only win by 3.
I hate watching ASU play football... stupid penalties... more stupid penalties... so far they are their own worst enemy vs. the Ducks.
USC vs. Cal tonight. Could be a good game...
PDX is rumored (again) to stand a chance at an NFL team. And I'd love to land an NHL team here... PLEASE!
Portland Timbers stand a good chance to make the MLS playoffs their first year. That has as much to do with the generous number of qualifiers as anything else. But they have been playing well. I have to admit this level of soccer is growing on me.
Paul Buker, Oregonian Beavers beat reporter: "TB Terron Ward became the 20th diff. OSU player to start his first game this season."
Beavers hold on to beat the Wildcats 37-27. Up 27-6 at the half.
This does not seem like the most interesting Saturday for CFB. "Red River Rivalry"? Not sure Texas can keep up. Well, locally we have Portland St. vs. Montana St. which actually might be a good game. Beavers - will they go 0-5? Urp.
Beavers are up 12-0 in the 2nd against ASU. I cannot see the game until it is replayed on a channel I rec'v tomorrow afternoon. Go Beavs.
